Berluti McLaughlin & Kutchin Attorneys Secure Award Exceeding $1.9 Million for Breach of Contract on behalf of Company Client Following Bench Trial

BMK attorneys Robert Berluti and Brendan Cooke represented a tax firm in a dispute with a former client who refused to pay the agreed-upon contingent fee for a whistleblower claim submitted to the IRS by the firm on behalf of the former client. Attorney Robert Berluti tried the case and was aided by Attorney Brendan Cooke for some aspects of preparing the case for trial and on trial issues as they arose. Following a jury-waived trial, the Superior Court awarded BMK’s client over $1.9 Million in damages, including interest, costs, and legal fees.
