On Thursday, October 23rd, 2025, Law.com hosted attorneys from firms across the New England area to recognize the 2025 honorees and finalists at the third annual New England Legal Awards. The New England Legal Awards are an annual event co-hosted by Law.Com and ALM to celebrate legal excellence across New England. Law.com is a New York City based legal media and information network whose reporting spans globally. Four attorneys from Berluti McLaughlin & Kutchin were recognized in their specific areas of practice; Attorney Matthew Gens was honored with the Unsung Hero award, Attorneys Christopher Davidson and Christopher Worthy were both recognized in the Real Estate area of practice, and Attorney Alyssa Coen was a finalist for the Most Promising Newcomer award. Many firm members from BMK, including Attorney Roberty Berluti, attended alongside their colleagues to support the recognized individuals.

Attorney Matthew Gens graduated cum laude from the Harvard University Law School and has since been practicing for 14 years. He has a well-versed history of litigation experience and has worked closely in contractual claims, business torts, and real estate litigation. Mr. Gens has a wide range of experience representing both the defense and plaintiff side in litigation matters, mediation and arbitration. He has successfully argued dozens of dispositive motions and appeals, and conducted multiple trials, in addition to successfully defending the same appeals that he has won previously before the trial court. He has also handled a multitude of high net-worth exposure cases, — many in the range of six to seven figure exposures. Matthew Gens has been a vital asset at Berluti McLaughlin & Kutchin for the last few years, and BMK is lucky to be able to rely on him to serve our clients to the highest degree of his ability.

Attorney Christopher Worthy has experience in multiple practice areas of law since graduating from Suffolk University Law School in 2010. He has primarily focused on corporate law and commercial real estate while also assisting corporate borrowers in complex financing transactions. Mr. Worthy is a member of the Massachusetts Real Estate Bar Association (MREBA) and is honored to be recognized for his work in real estate law.

Attorney Christopher Davison is a former prosecutor who served as supervising Assistant District Attorney for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts before joining BMK’s litigation department. Here at BMK, Mr. Davidson focuses on municipal, commercial, probate, corporate, and employment matters in addition to his work within real estate. Mr. Davidson specifically focuses on real estate disputes and litigation matters and is honored to receive recognition for his impact in the field of real estate law.

Attorney Alyssa Coen  is one of our newest additions to the BMK team. Ms. Coen joined as a law clerk in September of 2024 after graduating from Suffolk University Law School, she was hired as an associated after passing the bar exam in January of 2025. Alyssa has been actively practicing for less than one year, which is a large part of the reason this recognition is so meaningful so much to her; “The ‘Most Promising Newcomer’ award meant a lot to me because it recognized the effort and commitment I have put into developing as a young attorney. It reinforced that the hard work, attention to detail, and care I bring to helping clients plan for the future and grow their businesses are making an impact early in my career,” Coen recounts.

Berluti McLaughlin & Kutchin, LLP extends our gratitude to Law.com and ALM, not only for recognizing the remarkable work our attorneys do daily, but also for organizing such an incredible event to celebrate those achievements.
